Valmondois – Adaption in Pastell nach Gouache-Gemälde von de Vlaminck

Maurice de Vlamincks (4.4.1876 – 11.10.1958) Bilder beeindrucken auf vielfältigste Weise. Einen besonderen Reiz üben auf mich seine späteren Landschaftsbilder in kräftiger Farbgebung aus. Eine Ausstellung bei Dreut 1919 brachte de Vlaminck Erfolg und endgültige Anerkennung in der Kunstwelt. In dieser Zeit zog er sich u.a. in das ländliche Valmondois zurück. Ein Bild von ihm in Valmondois in Gouache gemalt, ist die Grundlage meiner Interpretation in Pastell. Die mitunter oft beschworene Zartheit des Pastells zu brechen und ihm Kraft und Stärke zu verleihen, war meine Intention bei der Hommage an de Vlaminck.

Maurice de Vlaminck’s (4.4.1876 – 11.10.1958) pictures impress in many different ways. His later landscape paintings in strong colours have a special charm to me. An exhibition at Dreut in 1919 brought de Vlaminck success and final recognition in the world of art. At this time he retreated to the rural Valmondois, among other places. A picture painted by him in Valmondois in gouache is the source of my interpretation in pastel. To break the sometimes often invoked tenderness of pastels and to give them energy and strength was my intention for the homage to de Vlaminck.
