Tulpen in solch sonnigem Gelb sind für mich Inbegriff eines lang erwarteten Frühjahrs. Sie lassen träumen von all dem neu im Jahr Entstehenden und Blühenden – sie geben Mut und Vorfreude auf Neues. Das Sonnengelb gibt uns Hoffnung, Erwartung, beflügelt unseren Geist und vermittelt uns oft auch Freude.
Yellow Tulips

Tulips in such a sunny yellow are for me the symbol of a long awaited spring. They make us dream of all the new things that will appear and blossom in the year – they give us courage and anticipation for the new. The sun yellow gives us hope, expectation, inspires our spirit and often gives us a sense of joy.

Der ehemalige Stadtpark Schöneberg und heutige Rudolph-Wilde Park ist eine öffentliche Grünanlage und ehrt mit seiner letzten Namensgebung den ersten Oberbürgermeister Rudolph Wilde. Die Brücke verbindet den nördlichen und südlichen Teil der Innsbrucker Straße über den Park hinweg. Sie ist Fußgängern und Radfahrern vorbehalten und trägt ihren Namen nach dem Schriftsteller Carl Zuckmayer, der 1924 am südlichen Ende der Brücke wohnte. Die U-Bahn-Linie 4 teilt den Park in einen östlichen und einen westlichen Abschnitt. Die gesamte Parkbreite wurde für die Anlage des U-Bahnhofs genutzt. Hier liegt er mit seinen beiden verglasten Seiten – im Bild oben gezeigt ist die Seite zum Teich – offen zum Park hin. Er zählt zweifellos zu den schönsten U-Bahnhöfen Berlins.
BerlinView III – Rudolph-Wilde Park

The former city park Schöneberg and today’s Rudolph-Wilde Park is a public green space and honours the first Lord Mayor Rudolph Wilde with its last renaming. The bridge connects the northern and southern part of Innsbrucker Straße across the park. It is reserved for pedestrians and cyclists and is named after the writer Carl Zuckmayer, who lived at the southern end of the bridge in 1924. The Underground Line 4 divides the park into an eastern and a western section. The entire width of the park was used for the construction of the subway station. Here it lies with its two glazed sides – in the painting above the side facing the small pond is shown – open towards the park. It is without doubt one of the most beautiful underground stations in Berlin.

Ein Spaziergang auf der Straße „Unter den Linden“ in Berlin ist leider nicht immer so inspirierend und farbenfroh wie hier von mir gezeigt. Dennoch bleibt es eine meiner Lieblingsalleen hier in der Stadt. Und es wird auch wieder eine Zeit kommen, dass die Straße fernab allen Baustellengetümmels in vollem Glanz erscheint und zum Promenieren einlädt.

A walk on the street „Unter den Linden“ in Berlin is unfortunately not always as inspiring and colourful as I have shown here. Nevertheless it remains one of my favourite avenues here in the city. And there will come a time again when the street, far away from all the construction site bustle, will appear in all its glory and invite you to take a stroll.

Valmondois – Adaption in Pastell nach Gouache-Gemälde von de Vlaminck

Maurice de Vlamincks (4.4.1876 – 11.10.1958) Bilder beeindrucken auf vielfältigste Weise. Einen besonderen Reiz üben auf mich seine späteren Landschaftsbilder in kräftiger Farbgebung aus. Eine Ausstellung bei Dreut 1919 brachte de Vlaminck Erfolg und endgültige Anerkennung in der Kunstwelt. In dieser Zeit zog er sich u.a. in das ländliche Valmondois zurück. Ein Bild von ihm in Valmondois in Gouache gemalt, ist die Grundlage meiner Interpretation in Pastell. Die mitunter oft beschworene Zartheit des Pastells zu brechen und ihm Kraft und Stärke zu verleihen, war meine Intention bei der Hommage an de Vlaminck.

Maurice de Vlaminck’s (4.4.1876 – 11.10.1958) pictures impress in many different ways. His later landscape paintings in strong colours have a special charm to me. An exhibition at Dreut in 1919 brought de Vlaminck success and final recognition in the world of art. At this time he retreated to the rural Valmondois, among other places. A picture painted by him in Valmondois in gouache is the source of my interpretation in pastel. To break the sometimes often invoked tenderness of pastels and to give them energy and strength was my intention for the homage to de Vlaminck.

Das Fischen verzaubert viele von uns immer wieder. Sei es die Ruhe am Wasser, der mit Sorgfalt ausgesuchte Ort, die Reize der Landschaft rundum, das Warten auf den großen Fang… Ich glaube, es ist alles gemeinsam.
