Nach einer Idee der Künstlers Henry Lyman Saÿen.
Mein Aquarell nimmt einen Kalenderdruck des Bildes „The Thunderstorm“ von Saÿen als Ausgangspunkt für weitere bildhafte Gedanken zur Thematik des Wasserkreislaufs und des menschlichen Daseins. Von der Bildung von Wolken und Regen, der Schaffung von Gegenständlichem bis hin zur Verwurzelung befindet sich alles Natürliche & Gegenwärtige im Fluss. Der Mensch bleibt gedanklich im Zentrum und ist Teil des großen weiten Laufs der Welt …

Reflections on The Thundershower

Based on an idea by the artist Henry Lyman Saÿen.
My watercolour takes a calendar print of the painting „The Thunderstorm“ by Saÿen as a starting point for further artistic thoughts on the subject of the water cycle and human existence. From the formation of clouds and rain, the creation of objects to rootedness, everything that is natural and present is in a state of fluidity. Human beings remain at the centre of thought and are part of the great wide world flow …

Das herbstliche Morgenlicht an der Havel lässt nicht nur die beiden Fischer sich genau für diese Stunden entscheiden. Neben ihnen sind es auch Spaziergänger, Fotografen und Maler die ihren Reiz am Land, den Leuten und den verschiedenen wundervollen Lichtstimmungen finden. Ein herzliches Dankeschön an Regina Wigand für ihre freundlicherweise zur Verfügung gestellte Fotoinspiration.

The autumnal morning light on the Havel makes not only the two fishermen choose exactly these hours. It is also the walkers, photographers and painters who find their charm in the land, the people and the various wonderful light moods. Manch einsames Haus am Feldesrand hat viele Geschichten zu erzählen: über seine Bewohner, seine Lage zum Dorf, zur Stadt, im Land und als Stecknadel auf dem Globus. Und immer sind es hier die Alleen, welche die Verbindungen in die Ferne und zurück in die Heimat bedeuten. Der Weg ist da und kann in beide Richtungen von uns begangen werden. Das ist schön. Ich liebe dieses Brandenburger Land, in dem ich das Licht der Welt erblickte.

Some lonely house at the edge of a field has lots of stories to tell: about its residents, its location to the village, to the city, in the country and as a pin on the globe. And always here it is the avenues that are the connections to the far away and back home. The path is there and can be walked in both directions by us. That is beautiful. I love this Brandenburg Land where I saw the light of day.

Gelbe Tulpen

Tulpen in solch sonnigem Gelb sind für mich Inbegriff eines lang erwarteten Frühjahrs. Sie lassen träumen von all dem neu im Jahr Entstehenden und Blühenden – sie geben Mut und Vorfreude auf Neues. Das Sonnengelb gibt uns Hoffnung, Erwartung, beflügelt unseren Geist und vermittelt uns oft auch Freude.

Yellow Tulips

Tulips in such a sunny yellow are for me the symbol of a long awaited spring. They make us dream of all the new things that will appear and blossom in the year – they give us courage and anticipation for the new. The sun yellow gives us hope, expectation, inspires our spirit and often gives us a sense of joy.
